99 000 RPM Contact-Less Digital Tachometer

I have a question regarding "99 000 RPM Contact-Less Digital Tachometer "
Is it possible in this project to increase the reading to 500,000 RPM.
If it is, what would have to be changed to be able to do. If it isn't possible how would I make 500,000 rpm tachometer.

I cant find the AT89c52 here in Sweden, but i find AT89S52-24PI. Is it possible to use it in this project with the same hex.code2675

I need a tachometer for a turbojetbuild i´m doing...

Yes it will work perfectly, the only problem is that you need to buy a a burner (a programmer to transfer the hex code to the chip) because the ISP programmer only works on the 89S series

The dealer i´m buying the most stuff from has three different leds, and if you please could recomend one model for the tachometer project...

Here is the three models:

IR333-A LED IR 5mm 940nm 20gr 4mW blue lens
IS658A Fotodiod IR
LED TSAL4400 IR 3 mm Vishay

I ordered the components today and think i´ll have them by tomorrow
It´s going to be fun to try this out!!

And by the way is it easy to change in the hex code so that i can have to reflections per revolution2675 I´m thinking of just drilling a hole thru the spinning shaft and mounting the IR LEDs pointing towards each other...
Can I just replace the *60 with *30 in the following line to achive this26752675
