I am attempting to use the Scanalogic tool to debug a microcontroller design. The debugger is connected to the board via USB. It seems there is a conflict between the Scanalogic and my board, because as soon as I plug my board into the USB, the Scanalogic is no longer recognized as being connected.

Well, it seems like a problem of VID/PID compatibility.
Does your USB board uses the AVR USB shared PID/VID paire (the one given in the source code)2685 if that's the case, i may know where is the problem exactly and will be solved very quickly.

Thank you for your quick reply. VID/PID conflict sounds plausible, but there are no Atmel parts on my board.

Well, the VID/PID of the SCANALOGIC are registered to IKALOGIC, so that is not the cause, hawever, the software also accept a shared PID/VID that may be re-used by you. This "backward compatibility" feature is not needed anymore in the software, so i may remove it anyway and issue an update.
Can you give me a description of the USB board you are using2685 what kind of USB protocol is it using2685 Is it HID class by any chance2685

The board is a TI Launchpad (http://www.ti.com/launchpad). I believe it does enumerate as HID. From Device Manager - Properties - Details - Device Instance Id:

Hello!
My scanalogic2 works well only with usb hub. When I plug it to native usb port of my notebook, win7 gives me usb error (code 43). I tried to reinstall usb drivers, but it was not helpful.

Looking at the internet, that CODE 43 error is due to some system failure. Are your windows have all updates..2687
Also, what is the exact model of your notebook2687 What brand2687
From the top of my head, i suspect that your native USB may have a damaged or weak power output.. (Scanalogic needs only about 60mA to run)

Hello!
The HUB does not have an external power. When I plug it into native usb port, the LED blinks slowly, and windows immediately says that does not recognize the device. I have all win updates. My notebook is Asus N50Vc.
My other usb stuff works fine.
Tomorrow I will try scanalogic on another computer/notebook.

We have a couple of ASUS notebooks at the office (include one N series), but we didn't notice this issue..
Please let us know if the problem occurs on other PCs/Laptops, that will help us to identify the issue.

All the notebooks use win7.
