Scanalogic-2 has been discontinued and replaced by the SE254, a 4-channel logic analyzer sampling at 250 MS/s.
We continue to support the users who bought a Scanalogic-2. If you have any questions or need assistance with the transition, please contact us.
Scanalogic-2
4 Channels logic analyzer and generator
Scanalogic-2 is a compact logic analyzer and signal generator that connects to a computer over USB. It captures 4 channels, generates signals, and can do both at once in mixed mode.

Which ScanaStudio version to use
Scanalogic-2 is not supported by ScanaStudio V5 or V6. Use ScanaStudio V2.3:
Principle of operation
Scanalogic-2 stores samples in embedded RAM, on 4 channels at once. The maximum sampling rate is 20 MHz and the memory holds 256 K points per channel. Lowering the sampling rate increases the total capture time.
Input and output characteristics
- Input voltage range: -0.7 V to 5.5 V
- Compatible logic levels: 2.8 V, 3.3 V, 3.6 V and 5 V
- Output level, fixed: 3.6 V
- Fastest signal that can be captured or generated: 2 MHz
Mixed mode
Scanalogic-2 can generate on 2 channels while capturing on the other 2. The split is fixed at two and two: three outputs and one input is not possible. The output is fixed at 3.6 V push-pull.
Status LED
Scanalogic-2 has one yellow status LED:
| LED state | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blinking once per second | Standby. All probes are high impedance |
| Blinking rapidly | Transferring data to or from the host computer |
| On continuously | Generator mode |
Drivers
Scanalogic-2 enumerates as a USB HID device, so no driver is needed on Windows, macOS or Linux. It is recognized automatically, like a keyboard or a mouse.
Scanalogic-2 Edu-Kit
The Edu-Kit is a low cost do-it-yourself variant. Once assembled it does the same job as a standard Scanalogic-2.

The assembly instructions are in the Edu-Kit guide.
